Terms of service

A considered first version in the SightPhones voice, built to protect you wherever UK law allows. This is **not legal advice** — have a UK e-commerce solicitor review it before publishing, and set the `[effective date]`. Things worth knowing about how this is drafted: - **The contract forms when we dispatch**, not when you order — this lets you cancel an order (and refund it) before it ships, e.g. for a pricing error or out-of-stock item. - **Liability is capped** at the price paid and excludes indirect/consequential loss — but it **deliberately preserves** the things UK law won't let you exclude (death or personal injury from negligence, fraud, and the customer's statutory rights). Removing those preservations is the single most common way terms get struck out, so they stay in. - Cross-links point to the returns and warranty pages and the privacy policy. - Camera/AI clauses put responsibility for lawful use on the customer. Only the `[effective date]` is left to fill. --- # Terms of Service These terms apply to your use of this website and to any order you place with us. Please read them before ordering. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. ## 1. Who we are This store is operated by **TYFG VISIONTECH LIMITED**, trading as **SightPhones**, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. **17188276**), registered office **180 Sarsen House, Middle Road, London, W7 3FT**. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean SightPhones. You can reach us at **support@sightphones.com**. ## 2. Using this website The website is intended for personal, non-commercial use by customers in the United Kingdom. By using it, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You agree not to misuse the site, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose. All content on this site — text, images, logos, and design — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. You may not reproduce it without our permission. ## 3. Products and descriptions We describe our products as accurately as we can. Photographs and illustrations are for guidance; minor variations in appearance can occur. The Rokid AI Glasses are made by Rokid; we are the UK seller. Product features that rely on third-party services (see section 8) may change if those services change. ## 4. Orders and when a contract is formed When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We'll acknowledge it by email, but that acknowledgement is **not** acceptance. A contract between us is formed only when we send you a **dispatch confirmation**. We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch — for example if the item is out of stock, if we identify an error in the price or description, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you've paid for, we'll refund you in full. ## 5. Prices and payment Prices are shown in **pounds sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT**. The price you see is the all-in price you pay; UK delivery is free. We take payment at the time you order, through the payment methods shown at checkout. If a product's price is obviously incorrect, we are not obliged to supply it at the wrong price; we'll contact you to confirm whether you'd like to proceed at the correct price before dispatching. ## 6. Delivery We deliver within the **United Kingdom** only. We aim to dispatch within the timeframe shown at checkout or on the product page. Delivery timescales are estimates and not guaranteed. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes to you once we've received payment in full and the goods have been delivered. ## 7. Cancellation, returns, faults and warranty Your right to change your mind, return items, and obtain refunds is set out in our [Returns & Refunds policy](/pages/returns), which forms part of these terms. In summary, you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel online orders, which we extend to 30 days as a goodwill gesture, subject to the conditions in that policy. Prescription and custom-fitted items are excluded, as explained there. If goods are faulty or not as described, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which these terms do not limit. Every product also comes with a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty — see our [Warranty page](/pages/warranty). ## 8. Third-party services and acceptable use of the product Some features rely on third-party services — including AI assistants provided by OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Google (Gemini). Your use of those features may be subject to the relevant provider's terms, and the availability or behaviour of those services is outside our control. You are responsible for using the product lawfully and considerately. This includes complying with applicable privacy and data-protection laws when using the camera or recording features, and respecting the rights of people around you. The product is consumer eyewear and is not a medical device; prescription lens options correct vision but the product is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition. ## 9. Our liability Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law — including your statutory rights as a consumer. Subject to that, and because you are a consumer buying for personal use, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, but we are **not** liable for losses that are not foreseeable, or for business losses (such as loss of profit, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity). Our total liability to you arising from any order will not exceed the price you paid for the goods in that order. ## 10. Events outside our control We are not responsible for delays or failures to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as supplier failures, postal or carrier disruption, or other circumstances we could not reasonably have foreseen. If such an event occurs, we'll let you know and aim to minimise any delay. ## 11. Privacy We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, available in the footer of this site. ## 12. Changes to these terms We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one in force on the date you place it. We'll post the current version on this page. ## 13. General If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply. A delay in enforcing these terms is not a waiver of our rights. These terms are the entire agreement between us in relation to their subject matter. ## 14. Governing law These terms are governed by the law of **England & Wales**, and disputes will be subject to the courts of England & Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of the part of the UK in which you live, and may bring proceedings in your local courts. ## 15.
