Can smart glasses work with prescription lenses?

Prescription lenses and wearable technology have historically been in tension. Glasses that require a standard lens shape, thickness, or fit have rarely accommodated the full range of prescriptions. AI glasses are no exception — but the situation is better than most people expect.

Standard lenses included

Rokid AI Glasses come with non-prescription lenses as standard. If you don't wear prescription glasses — or if you're comfortable wearing contact lenses while using the glasses — no additional step is required.

The prescription service

SightPhones offers a prescription fitting service for customers who need corrective lenses. After ordering, the team will be in touch to arrange the fitting. You'll need your prescription details, which any optician can provide.

The service currently supports single vision prescriptions. Varifocal and bifocal prescriptions are not supported at this stage. If your prescription falls outside single vision, contact us before ordering to discuss your options — it is better to know in advance than after the glasses have arrived.

What to do before ordering

If you wear glasses and are interested in the prescription service, the simplest path is to contact us at support@sightphones.com before placing your order. That conversation takes about five minutes and will confirm whether your prescription is compatible, give you a sense of timescales, and answer questions specific to your situation.

A note on the optical component

Rokid AI Glasses use a micro-OLED display projected into the lens through a small optical element. From certain angles, this component may be visible inside the lens. It does not affect performance or image quality. It is worth knowing before you order: the glasses are not entirely indistinguishable from standard frames, though they are considerably less conspicuous than most AR hardware. For more on what people around you actually see, read What other people see when you're wearing AI glasses.

Fit and size

The frame is available in one size and weighs 49g, which is lighter than many standard prescription frames. It suits most face shapes. If you have a specific fit requirement, mention it when you get in touch — we can advise before you commit to an order.
